If you’re a true Jozi resident you’ve been in the city over December and there are only two feelings about it. 1) It bores you to tears and you deactivate your social media as not to hate everyone who has trekked to the coast or 2) You love it! No queues, no reservations, no crazy holiday spending.

So if you’re like me (saving for a bigger goal) and on staycation in Joburg then you’re probably wondering what is there to do that you haven’t already done? Well…let me you help you out, I hit these hotspots, Bounce & Life Grand cafe with GoHello and a few other bloggers recently. It’s been on my ‘to-do-list’…we all know that list, the list that we never quite get through, Bounce was on that list for me. After an hour in traffic, a trip that usually takes me 12 minutes, I was at my wits end by the time I arrived spot, late nonetheless and didn’t know how I was going to deal with crowds. But as soon as I put on those happy turquoise and yellow socks & started to bounce around my mood instantaneously changed. I was transported to my inner 12 year old who thought (and wrongly so) that I could do flips and tricks. It definitely lived up to the happy expectations.

We ended off the evening at a place I frequent because honestly I haven’t been anywhere who does red velvet cake quite like Life Grand cafe. We had a 5-course set menu prepared us and nothing short of delicious. My favourite dish for the night and something any meat lover needs to try? The bound fillet, tender and delicious fillet wrapped in bacon with the best side potato I’ve ever had and that says a lot because I’m definitely a potato girl. Whether you’re down for an awesome vibe or just some really great food, this is definitely the spot to be this festive season.image
