My title may be confusing to my fellow candy crush gamers but it’s about the major crush I have on pastels this season. When autumn sets in you might find yourself reaching for pastel-colored coats, sweaters and jackets, a fresh take on the season’s usual somber palette.

Designers have lightened things up, the fall 2013 runway shows were awash in Easter egg shades of daffodil yellow, powder blue, cotton-candy pinks and mints. At Céline, roomy blush-colored coats were paired with sleek wool shifts and light-gray, chunky-heeled ankle boots. At Proenza Schouler, leather coats in rounded silhouettes were shown in a candy-colored lavender, and modern drop-waist dresses featured barely-there hints of mint.

‘m not really one to wear pink I’m more for the masculine colours (not surprisingly because my moms gynae thought I was a boy and my nursery was completely blue when I arrived in the world) but I will incorporate a few key pieces into my existing wardrobe this season because there are really fun pieces out there. I bought a blush longer length jersey online from Mr. Price that’s comfortable and versatile, I will do a look post about it later in the week but there are some great options out there. Zara has some beautiful pastel pieces and Topshop, a great pink coat to name a few.

Colour co-ordinating
Pastels like peach and pale pinks are chic, feminine and easily mixed and matched with darker hues. If you’re thinking about pastels like rose gold, light peach or lilac, pair them with dark denims or whites. And for that hard to pull off chalky blue tone, try pairing it with heather grey.
