Fashion week by now would have wowed the crowds with all things bright and beautiful, technically we are on Day 3 but here’s my outfit for Day 1. I have challenged myself (maybe in retrospect a little foolishly) to wear no item that cost me more than R500. As I am not a sponsored blogger or have a designer on call, I buy my own clothing and sometimes your budget just goes out the window. Sometimes we have these amazing ideas in our heads, sometimes those ideas fall flat on their faces. Sometimes you just have to take things into your own hands and wing it. Maybe you breakdown and text your sister 50 times about what to do, maybe your sister is pregnant & can’t deal with your insanity.
I’m not done with summer just yet…as autumn stares at me in the face I refuse to acknowledge it’s presence. At least the electric storms in Jozi remind me even for only those few minutes that the heat wave has not gone just yet.
Summer reminds me of eating gelato while walking the streets of Rome, riding rollercoasters at theme parks and lazing by the pool side. It’s the happinest memories in anyone’s life I’m sure, how many memories have been made in the snow or a miserable winters day when you can’t focus on anything but being cold to the bone. I want these sunny days to last, where sipping vino in the Stellenbosch winelands with some good friends is wanderlust.Read More
Sometimes I wish I was a designer. I wish I could sew my own clothing, the way I want it that suits my body perfectly. I have huge a problem buying clothing (this is why my shoe collection is disgustingly large) I hardly find anything that fits my short, curvy physique properly. I’m definitely not a regular fit, I’m an abscure size between medium and we don’t really cater for you. So I have to be creative, I bought this vest a size too large because I’m busty and didn’t want it to fit snug and accentuate the girls. And it basically looks like a dress (yes I’m wearing shorts underneath). What do I do with a boring white tee almost dress length? Put pearls on it of course. I just sewed some silver pearls on to match my necklace and voilá!Read More
