I had never been to the Lion Park so please understand my confusion when we drove past Lanseria and travelled towards Hartbeespoort on our way to the park. Little did I know, they have moved to a casual 600 hectare park. That’s kinda big. Nothing about this tour was casual as a matter of fact. We were picked up at the Radisson blu Gautrain (a MK tour pick up point) and chauffeured in luxury cars (think Maserati’s and new gen BMWs, yip totes casual).

The Lion & Safari park is part of the exotic tours MK travel & tours  offers  they have a variety of proudly South African tours.. I honestly didn’t know there was anything else except a couple of lions here & there but to my inner childs delight… giraffes, buck, buffalo etc. roam freely in the park. We did a game drive with a cute park ranger who was informative & funny (bonus) a highlight was a stop off at the lions during feeding and lunch on the river. There’s just something special about being in nature and forgetting about the hustle and bustle of the big city. The best 45 min drive out of Jozi I’ve had in long time. If luxury and nature had a baby it would be MK tours.
