My travel posts are usually quite popular amongst my followers so here’s another one! Just because you know, I can! I suffer from a syndrome called FOMO – fear of missing out. So I could definitely not sit back and watch everyones tanned bodies on pretty beaches while I chill at my pool in quiet Jozi over December… so iDecemeber’d & you?
Fashion week by now would have wowed the crowds with all things bright and beautiful, technically we are on Day 3 but here’s my outfit for Day 1. I have challenged myself (maybe in retrospect a little foolishly) to wear no item that cost me more than R500. As I am not a sponsored blogger or have a designer on call, I buy my own clothing and sometimes your budget just goes out the window. It’s Day-3 and the final day of my prints challenge, I had so much fun doing this & collaborating with Burgundy fly & their amazing South African designers. I kept this look simple & really made the print the hero of the outfit. It’s vibrant & classy, perfect for a wedding & special occasions. I’m a short girl & don’t really wear long dresses in fear that I look shorter & wider but this skirt is high waisted & actually made me look taller & flattered my figure.

Day 2 of my prints challenge
I was raised in a ‘township’ in the west part of Johannesburg growing up the style of the youth was very distinct and to some degree it set them apart & gave them a sense of belonging. I’m part of what the call the ‘Born Free Generation’ it represents true freedom of expression with a highly colourful personality. It’s punk meets African high street. It is continentally inspired and makes reference to numerous African tribes for key inspiration. This shift dress is an easy everyday dress mostly used for workwear but I styled it to be a casual easy to wear outfit.
