It’s freezing yet sunny folks, hello Winter in Jozi! You have greeted us with a flu that left us holding on for dear life, inappropriate see-through tights as pants and a whole lot of ‘maybe I’m wearing a bra today maybe I’m not’. (Sidenote: that rule doesn’t apply to me, I need extra strength to hoist these up).Read More
I’m not done with summer just yet…as autumn stares at me in the face I refuse to acknowledge it’s presence. At least the electric storms in Jozi remind me even for only those few minutes that the heat wave has not gone just yet.
Summer reminds me of eating gelato while walking the streets of Rome, riding rollercoasters at theme parks and lazing by the pool side. It’s the happinest memories in anyone’s life I’m sure, how many memories have been made in the snow or a miserable winters day when you can’t focus on anything but being cold to the bone. I want these sunny days to last, where sipping vino in the Stellenbosch winelands with some good friends is wanderlust.Read More
It seems the worst of winter is over in Joburg (or so we hope) the malls are in their transition stage with only the winter stock that didn’t sell and their spring collections slowly filtering through. The icy winter bite seems to have passed and we have our warm days and cold nights quite distinctly now. Which is actually quite entertaining to watch, everyone seems to interpret it a different way and you’re not quite sure if we all got the same memo on the weather that day. Some people will be full on boots and coats like we’re in the Antarctic & some in full on shorts & flip flops like an island child. I won’t lie I’m probaly more the island child but I do wish spring would hurry itself up now I’m quite bored of my winter essentials. These are some of my favourite ‘transition’ buys lately which also meant they were on sale, bonus!

So as all of my regular readers know I’m a bit comfort obsessed. I don’t think I quite fully comprehend the ‘suffer for beauty’ saying unless it comes to my hair of course (which is a whole blogpost itself about how thick & dry it is). If you catch me on any normal day I’m in flats of some sort and lately it’s been these Maxed trainers. I just love the colour contrast, sidenote: I will wear these same trainers to the gym and a meeting and an event and, and, and. It’s bad I know. But anyway they call that sports luxe right?
These blue heels for years now & quite honestly never wear them, I bought them in high school in case I ‘get an office job’ they are incredibly comfortable you’ll never know you’re wearing heels.
This outfit is quite versatile as you can go from a trendy, casual day look to a ‘drinks after work’ outfit by slipping on a pair of heels. You can even keep a pair of heels in the car like I do and if you wear this outfit on a weekend you can slip them on if you have to meet up with friends the evening. The coat glamorizes the outfit and the boyfriend jeans made it look like you didn’t make much effort but still look cool.
