I’ve only been back in Johannesburg a few years since I studied away from home so every weekend still feels like a chance to discover something new about my city.

The way we hangout and socialize has completely transformed since I’ve lived here, for one we’ve moved into the CBD which was totally taboo circa 2012. But has become the spot for all the cool kids and street style attention seekers.

I must admit living in one city most of your life you feel you’ve seen everything there possibly is to see but I’ve been surprised by the amazing spots that have been there but also popping up. Jozi can be completely magical amongst all the chaos.

Speaking of magical…sometimes you just have to create your own magic. The best way to do that for me is a trip…usually overseas because everything is unfamiliar and you feel transported to a world where nothing and no one matters aside from the experience you’re having. We’re not all fortunate to travel the world on a whimp but that shouldn’t stop you to take some time out and just get away within the borders of your country.

And sometimes having a weekend away in your own city can be just as refreshing. Parents needing a break from their toddlers, families who want some quality time or couples just needing a break away.

tried it before and it really works, there’s something about checking into a hotel that makes you feel the magic a holiday brings.

The Radisson hotel in Sandton is a huge building I’ve passed countless times but took for granted as another building amongst the skyscrapers but recently visited and was so impressed but the sheer size and sophistication of the hotel, it’s stylish and iconic in it’s own right. The pool deck overlooks the Sandton skyline & plays host to happy hour with live music on Friday & Saturdays…which is always a vibe! And for the more sophisticated, Vivace (their contemporary Italian restaurant) has jazz brunch on Sundays (yay for brunch).

I’ve never taken the red tour bus in Jozi which I heard is actually a cool way to see the city & Radisson Sandton will be running cool urban packages in December including the Gautrain & red bus tours, I shall definitely be hopping on that band wagon (see what I did there?).
To celebrate the end of my blogs birthday celebration I want you to share in the magic of Jozi in a luxury hotel in the heart of Sandton city.
